A semi-deep dive into the world of fanfiction and what that means to me, the creator of this site.
There was this video game I really liked in middle school that led me down the path of fanfiction. I watched people on youtube play the game and I played it myself but after that I still wanted more. It's a relatively niche game so finding more content online was hard. I remember looking at fanart on the family ipad and seeing art that was linked to this website called Wattpad. I clicked on it and it took me to this oneshot collection. Out of curiosity, I read it and became enamored by this world of fandom based stories that I didn't know existed. There was so much more content to explore! Wattpad became my safe haven for three years as I found fics for things I enjoyed.
